About Alexis Buffum

Alexis performs and teaches violin in Austin, TX. She earned a Masters in Music performance from the University of Texas and a Bachelors of Music from Florida State University. With over 16 years of professional performance and teaching experience, Alexis isn't just fiddling around.

Equally comfortable on stage and in the studio, Alexis plays professionally with the Austin Symphony, Central Texas Philharmonic, and Ballet Austin.  She collaborates often with Graham Reynolds, Golden Hornet Project, and Adrian Quesada.   She can also be hired to play for parties and events (as a soloist or in an ensemble), or for Classical, folk, country, church/worship, bluegrass, Irish, and rock performances or recordings.

Alexis also has an active teaching studio in northwest Austin where she works with beginning to advanced students from age 4 to adult. Alexis is a certified Suzuki method instructor who incorporates other musical genres and improvisation into the curriculum.
